The extents of the hairpin precursors #=GF CC are not generally known and are estimated based on hairpin #=GF CC prediction. The products are thought to have #=GF CC regulatory roles through complementarity to mRNA. The involvement #=GF CC of Dicer in miRNA processing suggests a relationship with the #=GF CC phenomenon of RNA interference.
